Puri Beach

Located on the shore of Bay of Bengal, Puri beach is known for being a beautiful tourist spot amidst the chimes of temple bells in the sacred city of Puri. The renowned Beach Festival at Puri attracts tourists, artists and performers from all over the country and hosts sand art displays along with cultural events. The beach has continued to be a revered place for pilgrims coming to worship Lord Jagannath.

The beaches of Puri are also renowned for the sand sculptures created particularly by the internationally famed sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik. One of the best views the beach offers is the golden sunset and sunrise. Sea shells are collected here in large quantity. There is also a lighthouse that was built in 1877 to guide ships in the dark.

How to reach Puri Sea Beach

Located just 2 km from the Puri Railway station, Puri beach is located on the outskirts of sacred city of Puri. The nearest airport is situated at Bhubaneswar which is at a distance of 60 km. One can easily reach Puri beach by commuting via bus or taxi. Famous tourist attractions in and round Puri beach is renowned Lord Jagannath temple.
