Should I carry medicines during the yatra?

The tour staff carries the first aid kit and many medicines. But you should also carry your basic and prescribed medicines.

Approximately it takes one day to complete the inner kora which is 34 km.

How should I prepare myself for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?

For Kailash Mansarovar Yatra good mental and physical fitness is required. 4-5 months before the yatra start preparing yourself by indulging in physical fitness exercises like aerobics, yoga, walking 4-5 km every day, jogging, freehand exercise, etc. A medical-checkup before the yatra is highly recommended.

Can I travel to Mt.Kailash myself?

Individual travel to Mount Kailash is not allowed as per China’s regulations. You have to take part in an organized group tour or get your Kailash tour customized with a local travel operator.

In how many days Mount Kailash Yatra can be completed?

Kailash Yatra can be completed in 13 days by overland (land cruiser/ coach) and 11 days by helicopter via Nepal. For a physically fit person, it normally takes three days to circle around Mt. Kailash.

Can the Indian currency be used during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra? Can I use credit and ATM cards?

No, Indian currency INR cannot be used during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Only the Chinese currency Yuan is accepted. ATM facility is also not widely available. So, it will be better to exchange your money to Chinese currency.
