Padiyanoor Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Padiyanoor Devi Temple also known as Padiyanoor Sree Chamundi Devi Temple, is dedicated to Goddess Chamundi. The idol of the Goddess is surrounded by sub-deities Yakshi Amma, Lord Ganpathi, Yogeshwara, Thampuran and various others. Devotees believe that the Goddess protects them from hurdles in life and grants all their wishes.

Festivals/Events Celebrated at Padiyanoor Devi Temple in Kerala

The annual festival is celebrated with great zest in the Padiyanoor Sree Chamundi Devi Temple. The festival is observed in the Meenam month and is celebrated over three days. Apart from the annual festival, other festival celebrated in the Padiyanoor Sree Chamundi Devi Temple are:

  1. Karthik Deepa
  2. Pooja Vaypu – It is similar to Dussehra festival (Saraswathy Pooja and Vidyarambham)
  3. Mandala Vratham – Festival in connection with the yearly Sabarimala Utsavam
  4. Ayia Pooja – Flowers and Milk are offered to the serpent God and special rites are performed
  5. Aiswarya Pooja – The pooja is conducted on Pournami days
  6. Vishu Kani – It is celebrated on the first day of the month of Medam. Devotees visit the temple for Vishukani Darshanam.
