Neeli Chatri Temple is an ancient temple located at the Salim Garh fort, Ring road New Delhi close to Yamuna Bank. It is believed that the temple was built by the Elder brother of Pandavas. There is no specific mention of the history of this temple. Yet this temple is called the Pandavalaya Temple. Blue umbrella is a dome that is made of blue tiles. Hence it is called the Neeli Chatri Temple.

Dharmraj Yudhister organized an Ashwamegha Yagna in this temple. Later Lord Krishna and Balram worshipped here. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the five ancient temples built by the Pandavas in Delhi. Lord Brahma had received the knowledge of the Vedas at Nigam Bodh Ghat.
The architecture of this temple is similar to a tomb. The main idol of Lord Shiva is Lies in the center of the tomb. The whole of the temple is built of stone and masonry and ornamented with encaustic tiles of four colors. The temple has eight entrance gates and the verse of the Quran can be seen in the tomb.
It is believed that the mandir is constructed in the Mahabharat era by the eldest brother of the Pandavas. Lord Krishna and his brother Balram also has visited this place and worshipped the Lord shiva. But some Historian says that this is actually a tomb and made in the era of Mughal emperor Akbar. According to some historians that this tomb was built by the Noubat Khan, Mansabdar (State Official) of Akbar in 1565.
