Maramkulangara Krishna Temple is situated at Vennala. It is at quick access via road from Palarivattom, Tripunithura and Vyttila. The main deity in Maramkulangara Krishna Temple is Bala Krishna. This Bala Krishna is termed by the locals as "Child Specialist".oo
Elamprakkodathu Mana, an ancient Namboodiri family, was the landlord of the area, and they had the ownership of a lot of temples around including the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple and Pishari Kovil Bhagavathi Temple. Maramkulangara Krishna temple also built by them too.
Bala Krishna, the central deity in the temple is believed to protect small children from evil birds. Children are brought to this temple seeking blessing before “Choroonu” – the ritual of giving rice food for the very first time. Children are then given a bath in front of the temple with the holy water and are let to dry naturally, then brought in the shrine for Darshan.
