Cheranalloor Shiva Temple, Kerala

Cheranalloor Shiva temple is a 300 years old temple situated in Cheranalloor, Ernakulam. It is easy to access from Kalady and Perumbavoor town. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the shrine is among 108 Shiva temples of Kerala. Here Lord Shiva is in his ascetic form and is worshipped with fragrant flowers only. The deity in the Cheranalloor Shiva Temple is also known as RINA Mochaka - liberator of debts. The annual poojas are performed in March every year.

The temple was tile-roofed about 100 years ago. Gurukkal, Nambiar's, Sharodys, Marars etc.are in temple administration.

Festivals/Events Celebrated by Cheranalloor Shiva Temple

The annual temple festival in Cheranalloor Shiva Temple is celebrated in February (Kumbham). The festival is celebrated with great pomp. It lasts for a week and during that period various special poojas, stage programmes, fireworks etc. are performed.
