Sree Sundareswara Temple in Kannur, Kerala

Sree Sundareswara temple is located in Kannur. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was constructed In 1916 by Shree Narayana Guru. He was the most respected social reformer of Kerala, who devoted his life to help and uplift the deprived. The idea behind building the temple was to bring a social reform, where people from backward classes were no longer barred from worshipping. Sri Chaithanyaall Swamy designs the interior of the walls. It is one of the largest temples in Kannur.

Festivals/Events Celebrated at Sree Sundareswara Temple in Kerala

The eight-day annual festival of Sree Sundareswara Temple is celebrated between March- April. On the last day, the Holy Bath ritual is held. It is followed by a grand and pompous procession of caparisoned elephants and fireworks, that marks the end of the annual festival.
