Legend states that Arjuna installed the main deity in Palkulangara Devi Temple. After installing the god, Arjuna sent an arrow to the ground to a pond of milk, that was used for Abhishekam.
The Goddess Parvati as Goddess Tripura Sundari along with Goddess Kali is worshipped as main deities in the temple. Karthika is considered as the star of the deity. There are many sub-deities adjacent to the temple, and it has been reconstructed recently according to the Deva Prashnam by expert astrologers.
