Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani, Trikuta and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi. Vaishno Devi Mandir is a holy shrine dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi and is located at the top of Trikuta hills in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

At the end of their pilgrimage, the pilgrims are blessed with the Darshans of the Goddess Vaishnavi inside the Holy Cave. These Darshans are in the shape of three natural rock formations called the Pindies.
A devotee has to cross 13 km from Katra to Bhawan. It takes them 5-6 hours to climb. Katra is the main camp for Vaishno Devi Yatra. People can come to Katra by Bus, Taxi, Train. But flight is available to Jammu.
A pilgrim can use any of the two routes from Ardhkuwari to Vaishno Devi Bhawan, one is 5.5 km less steep uphill and the other one is 6.5 km steep uphill. If a person cannot climb, then he/she can take another mode of transport such as the mule, palki, and pithoo. Further, there is a ropeway available from Bhawan to Bhairon Nath Temple.
