Sree Ramaswamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. It is located at Thiruvangad near Thalassery, Kannur. It is a unique temple with immense historical significance. The annual festival, Vishy Mahotsavam in Thiruvangad Sree Ramaswamy Temple lasts for eight days. It starts with the ceremonial flag-hoisting on the day of Meta Sankramam, that falls on the last day of the Malayalam month. The idol is taken around the temple in a procession on elephant back during the festival. It is a stunning event with decorated silk umbrellas and traditional art forms – Panchavadya, and Pandimelam.
