Poruvazhy Peruviruthy Malanada Temple is renowned for the celebration of Malanada Kettukazhcha or Malakkuda Mahotsavam. It is an eight-day festival that starts with ceremonial flag hoisting. It is a one-day festival celebrated in March.

Malakkuda Mahotsavam procession is a sight to behold. During the grand procession decorated structures of bulls and horses with drums are taken out. Some of these structures range from 70 – 80 ft. The celebration attracts a large number of devotees annually.
